POSSESS SUCCESS !! part 1

Hello dear readers,
This post is about something all of us have been striving to achieve for years. The ulterior motive of everything we have done till now (going to school, college etc) was to achieve this one thing. This thing that I am talking about is success. All of us wants to lead a successful life. And this post is to aimed to help you realize that dream.
The word meaning of success is subjective. It changes from person to person. I define success as infinite wealth and power. For another person, this term might mean finding a cure for cancer or being an Olympic gold medalist. So the first step to achieve success is to realize what It means to you. What do you want to be?
Many of us do know what we really want to do in life. But we don’t do it. Why? Because of FEAR.
“What will others think of me If I do this?”
“What if it fails?”
You can complete the question “What if………….?” In a million ways to fuel your fear and prevent yourself from even trying. And it is how one responds to that question, which will determine if he’s a winner or a loser. Do you rely on your petty excuses and don’t even make an attempt to succeed or do you go against all odds to make things happen?
Fear is your biggest enemy, my friend. It's unconsciously holding you back, preventing you from achieving success. But at the same time, if you do conquer this enemy, you will be on you're way to greatness. You will be a leader not a follower. You will be a risk-taker. You will leave this world, with a string of accomplishments and victories hooked to your name. And when I mentioned fear, I didn’t mean you're fear of spiders or height. I'm talking about your fear of failure, fear of the unknown and the fear of rejection.

The Fear of rejection: All of us are approval junkies. At the end of the day, we are all doing what others want us to do.
“I did this because everyone else did it…”
How many times have we justified our actions with this answer?
Friends, to overcome your fear, you need courage. Be Courageous enough to pursue what you truly want. Instead of following the footprints of others, set your own path. I know friends who have been pressurized by society to act against their free will. For example, one of my friends who has an insane passsion for automobiles, has chosen civil engineering because of parental pressure. Do you think he will be as successful in Civil as he would have been in automobile? I don't think so. When it comes to decisions regarding your life, don't rely completely on anyone. Ask for suggestions and advices but the final decision must be yours. (I cannot stress on this point enough)
Remember, your dream will seem ridiculous to another person and people WILL laugh at you when you do something differently. You will be ridiculed by people who won't even know what your passion is about. The losers, budge to the ridicule and follow the herd. The winners, pursue their dreams with courage and become great leaders. And they could not care less about what people think. I'm faced with ridicule all the time. But it doesn't get to me. I am bold enough to pursue what I want. And I will die a happy man doing what I do (being a businessman). I suggest you to develop a similar attitude.
Let me illustrate my point with real life stories of successful men.

US Senator Chuck Schumer said in the television series- The Apprentice, "If you want to know whether you'll be successful in what you do, Just do this exercise- When you wake up on a monday morning, if you feel in the gut to stay in bed and relax over the work, you will never be successful in that profession." LOVE WHAT YOU DO AND DO WHAT YOU LOVE.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the only person in the world to win MR.UNIVERSE title for 2 consecutive years, the highest paid entertainer in hollywood, went to America as an immigrant. He wanted to get into the movie business. People used to laugh at him. They used to say, "How can you get into the movie with your stupid accent? And how the hell do you pronounce your last name?" All this humiliation did not discourage him. It made him pursue it with greater perseverance and persistence. And look where it got him? He ended up being the highest paid entertainer in history. He says, "I am where I am only because I did not listen to the word CAN'T". Remember, the word "can't" doesn't exist. And it doesn’t matter what people think about you. Because what people think of you, is not what you are. It’s what they perceive you are.

When you close this blog and return to your life, spend a moment with yourself. Ask yourself, "Are you doing what you really want to do?". If you are not, you're never going to be successful in a million years. You're half way to success by just making the choice to succeed.

So before I conclude, I'll tell you this one more time. Overcome your fear of rejection - It doesn't matter what people say about you.
Overcome your fear of failure- The fear of failure is worser than failure itself. It doesn’t matter if you fail. Like I said before, failing does not make you a failure but quitting does.

Cheers.

ADDICTION TO PROCRASTINATION

Hello Readers. It's been a while. How you guyz been? Haven't updated my blog for quite some time now because of my busy schedule. Anyways let's cut to the chase.
As the title says, This week, I'm going to shed some light on procrastination. (For those of you who does not know what procrastination is, It is the act of putting things off for a later date). Let's face it, we all do it in our day-to-day lives. It's like a drug which gives you a temporary relief, but is not the solution for the problem. That's why I feel procrastination is no different from smoking or drinking.

Let me share something with you I came across a couple of days ago. I hope it will enlighten you, just like it did me.
Monkey hunters use a box with an opening at the top, big enough for the monkey to slide its hand in. Inside the box are nuts and fruits. The monkey grabs the nuts and its hand now becomes a fist. Unfortunately, the hole on the top is big enough for the monkey to put its hand in, but too small for the fist to go out. Now the monkey has a choice, it can either let go off the nuts and escape or hang on to the nuts and get caught. Guess what it chooses everytime? You guessed it. It hangs on to the nuts and gets caught.

We humans are no different from monkeys. We all hang on to some nuts that keeps us from going forward in life. We keep saying "I will do this later because _________" And whatever comes after 'because' are the nuts we're hanging on to. It does no good. It will only hold you back, slow you down and suck on your abilities and talents making you nothing more than a loser. And in the end, when it's too late, you'll reminisce only to regret about it.
So do yourself a favor, and adopt this small exercise in your daily life. The next time you're about to procrastinate, don't do it (:P)

The difference between Winners and losers is that Winners Analyze and losers rationalize. As the proverb goes, NEVER PUT OFF SOMETHING FOR TOMORROW WHEN YOU CAN DO IT TODAY. So friends, put on those procrastination patches and QUIT PROCRASTINATING TODAY!! :)

Hope this helped,
I'll catch you guys later.
Good Luck.

GIVE UP GIVING UP !!!

There are 6 billion people sharing our world, all heading to the same destination- Greatness. But the road leading to Grandeur and splendor is more hostile than the fiercest blizzard or the strongest sandstorm. It is filled with hardships and troubles all the way. And the very few who actually reach greatness, are the ones who move on in spite of the hardships; and the ones who failed, are the ones who turned back.

Every one of us has the desire to reach greatness burning furiously inside of us and yet the slightest drizzle of misfortune and failure dampens our spirits. When problems seem insurmountable, quitting seems to be the easiest solution. It applies for all aspects of life. We turn back instead of learning from our failure and moving on. We quit when we have the opportunity to try again. And therefore we lose when we could have WON.
Failing is inevitable if you want success. Failing does not make us failures but quitting does. Most of us fail not because of the absense of talent and knowledge but because we quit. Success is achieved by persistence and resistence. Always Persist to succeed and resist to quit.

Every great success story is also a great story of failure. Let me share 2 such stories:

-There was a man who failed in business at the age of 21 ; Was defeated in a legislative election at 22 ; failed again in business at 24; lost the love of his life at 26 ; had a nervous breakdown at 27; lost a congressional election at age 34 ; lost a senatorial election at 45; failed to become the vice president at 47; lost again at the senatorial election at 49 and was finally elected as one of the greatest presidents of the united states at the age of 52. This man was Abraham Lincoln.
Do you call him a failure? He could have quit. But to Lincoln, defeat was a detour and not a dead end. How many of us would have quit if we were presented with his failures and hardships?

Another story i want to share with you is of Colonel Sanders's.
At the age of 65, with a beat-up car and a 100$ check from Social security, he realized he had to do something. He remembered his mother's recipe and went out selling. It is estimated that he had knocked more than a thousand doors before he got his first order. And today it has become one of the most successful food franchises in the world- KFC.
How many of us quit after 3tries, 10 tries, a hundred tries and then say we tried as hard as we could?
Remember- YOU HAVEN'T TRIED AS HARD AS YOU CAN IF YOU HAVEN'T SUCCEEDED.

SUCCESS IS NOT MEASURED BY HOW HIGH WE BOUNCE UP IN LIFE, BUT BY HOW MANY TIMES WE BOUNCE BACK WHEN WE FALL DOWN.
It is your persistence to succeed and resistance to quit that gets you to great heights.

REMEMBER DONT GIVE UP ANYTHING OTHER THAN GIVING UP!

So the next time you feel like quitting, take a moment, think to yourself- Do you want to reach greatness or do you want to turn back? Do you want to be in the elite group of winners or in the billions of failures? Its Your call.

DO WE REALLY NEED COLLEGE EDUCATION TO GET A JOB?!! I DONT THINK SO...

Hi Dear Reader,
This is my first ever blog post and I hope what follows will benefit and enlighten you. And please remember to leave comments and yes, criticism is most welcome.
I've just finished my high school a couple of weeks ago. I have an average percentile which will grant me admission in most colleges. Traditionally, a person in my shoes would be busy studying for admission exams and applying for an admission in colleges, but I haven't applied to a single college and I am not planning to either this year. I am an aspiring entrepreneur. I believe that you don't need education to make money. I've decided to take an year off and use it to get a job for myself, save for college, start a small time business and also help my parents with the rising expenditure. But everyone I pass by keeps asking me this same question, "Which college are you going to join?" and when i tell them I'm going to start a legitimate business and get a job, they go nuts and allege that my decision is stupid. "You cant start a business now", "You're too young", "You need education to make money", "Businesses will never succeed". And all I want to reply is- "SHUUUTTT UP!!! that is the biggest load of crap I've heard in my life".

People, dont get me wrong. I understand the pivotal importance of education in one's life. Its the advices i get that conflicts with my beliefs. Right from my childhood, adults have given me the same advice. The same advice they got when they were a child - "You have to study hard and get a job so that you can be rich and successful". This thought is so deep rooted in the minds of our society- young and old, they are totally oblivious to the fact that there are other ways to be successful. We blindly follow others and most of us are terrified to try something new or to adopt a method different from others. Some of the most successful people who ever lived were uneducated. They succeded not because of education or a fancy college degree. They succeeded because they thought differently, they had the courage to believe in their thoughts and they Worked Hard to pursue their thoughts.
These people include-
Thomas Alva Edison - The greatest inventor that ever lived.
Dhirubai Ambani - The biggest business magnate in India. ( If he would have been alive today, his assets would be worth more than 100billion $, His sons mukesh and anil are the 4th and 5th richest people today in the world respectively.
Fred Trump - an imigrant who lived in the US, started out with nothing and ended up with all the wealth in the world. His son, Donald Trump, is the biggest real estate developer in Manhattan. He holds the credit for making some of the finest golf courses, hotels, apartments in the world. And many many more. All these people found a niche for themselves in their respective professional world and have redefined success because of the way they think and act. And I assure you, I will also come in this list and some child somewhere, sometime in the future will be writing a similar article setting me as an example.

As a man who fuels his lamp of learning with the oils of others’ experience, let me expound the following maxim: Don't do what others do just because they're doing it. They probably dont know why they are doing it themselves.

I have to go now, so I conclude by saying this- think differently, believe in yourself. You know what is best for you better than anyone else. Dont let others suggestions bring you down. And whatever you do, do it with the best of yout abilities and work hard.
Thank You readers for the precious time you have spent to read my article. I will be back in a couple of days to dip my hands into some other topic.
Until then,
Bubye. Take care.
Thank you.
